Configuring Disbursal Settings

Configuring Disbursal Settings

As a platform admin, you use the Admin Portal to onboard and manage payers on the platform. After successfully onboarding a payer, you may configure additional settings to configure the facility the way you want it to operate. This article covers configuring disbursal settings, such as funding date offset and grouping payment references.

Configuring the Funding Date Offset

The funding date offset is intended to accommodate the payment processing systems of certain countries that require an extra business day to process payments. When the configuration is enabled, the system adds the number of days to the invoice funding date.

To configure the feature, do the following:
  1. From the Admin Portal, open the Payer company type.
  2. Switch to the Disbursal tab.

  3. Select the number of business days for the offset in the Offset funding date by field. The system adds the number of business days specified in the field to the funding date.

  4. Optionally select a country Business days country dropdown. The system uses this field as a reference to calculate the next business day in the selected country in case of public holidays.
When funding an invoice, the system considers available investment days set up by the funder.

Recalculation

If the new funding date is greater than the original maturity date or the last possible funding date, the system will not fund the invoice. If the new funding date is less than or equal to the original maturity date or the last possible funding date, the system will recalculate invoice data (fees, repayment date) using the new funding date as the funding date.

Examples

  1. Investment Days: If the funder invests only on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the funding date offset is set to one business day, eligible invoices will be purchased on Monday or Wednesday, because Tuesday and Thursday are the investment days (Monday + 1 business day offset = Tuesday).
  2. Holidays: If tomorrow is a banking holiday in the selected country, the system will not purchase the fully approved invoice on Monday, as the funder won't be able to fund it. Instead, the system will try to purchase the invoice on Wednesday because Thursday is an investment day (Wednesday + 1 business day offset = Thursday).
  3. Funding Window Start Date: If the funding window for the invoice is from tomorrow (Tuesday) until next Tuesday, the system will purchase the fully approved invoice today (Monday) because the new offset date (T+1 = Tuesday) is within the funding window.
  4. Funding Window End Date: If today is the last day of the funding window and the offset is set to one business day, the system will not purchase the fully approved invoice today because the new offset date (T+1 = Tuesday) is outside the funding window.

Configuring Payment Reference Grouping

You can configure additional criteria to use when grouping payment references in disbursal files (Payments Report) that the system send to funders after invoice purchase. The configurations allow grouping payments by different combinations of seller bank account, repayment date, and payer.

To configure the feature, do the following:
  1. From the Admin Portal, open the Payer company type.
  2. Switch to the Disbursal tab.

  3. If you do not enable any toggles in the Group payment references section, payment references are grouped by seller bank account.

  4. Enable the Group payment references by the repayment date toggle to group payment references by the repayment date and seller bank account combination.
  5. Enable the Group payment references by the payer toggle to group payment references by the payer and seller bank account combination.
  6. Enable both toggles to group payment references by the payer, repayment date, and seller bank account combination.
  7. Save the changes.
